Tuesday, October 31, 2006Happy 100th Birthday to the English Hymnal!I listened to a BBC programme commemorating this event, although it is a bit after the real birthday. You can hear the programme here. I must admit, I don't know very much about the hymnbook, never having used it myself, but I thought much of the sentiment expressed in the programme was very good. On 15 November, I will be attending a lecture by Rowan Williams at the University to launch the Manchester Research Institute for Religion & Civil Society. There's quite a large religion and theology department in the same building as many of my lectures, which includes its own CU. I might try to get involved, especially next semester when I can attend the main meetings. |
