We've just come back from our allotment, where a few of us have been working since this morning. Over the past week we've been preparing the ground for sowing the first vegetables of the year - last year we didn't get much planted as a lot of time was spent weeding and working out what we wanted to do with the allotment in the first place. This morning we started off at 11:30 with 2.5 tonnes of manure, and a partially dug up allotment. By 4:30, we had a mostly dug up allotment with manure all over it. We'd also had our first BBQ of the year and a short snowfall. Elbert and Annewieke will probably post some pictures on the official allotment blog soon, but as I didn't bring my camera, you'll have to take my word for it. We've also been offered the allotment next door free for the next year, but seeing how much work this one takes it might be a bit of a double edged sword, especially if we want to do anything else this year!

I've been enjoying spending some time at work listening to teaching tapes and UCB Bible . It's sometimes good to have mindless computer work to do, as you can spend the time thinking about other things. Listening to Jeremiah and Ezekiel straight through was quite amazing, it's incredible to see how much of the point you miss if you go through a book over the course of a few weeks.
