Tuesday, January 17, 2006Cute little ones, faraway friends and a cold houseHappy New Year Everyone! As a taster to 'new things in a new year' I discovered a website of adorable and cute baby animals......check it out: First of all appologies to those who did not get a card or update from us recently....we have NOT forgotten you...yes, even you (!)....we've just fallen into the awful trap of worldly busyness and procrastination, yet, as every year, we have every hope of getting out a prayerletter/update before the end of January! So...to all of our faraway friends....ASTA LUEGO! Jonathan has the idea at the moment that there is a conspiracy against him to stop him at all costs from revising for his exams (18&26 Jan.).He finished his month of work for UCB (see www.ucb.co.uk)during his 'Christmas holidays' and looked forward to a couple of weeks intense study time....but no, looming around the corner came a series of challenges for 'the practical minded husband'. A leaking shower hose, a weeping refridgerator with a broken plate and a near electrical fire in our living room through a melting transformer was the start.....finishing with a cool chill as our boiler decided to loose pressure and key parts of the mechanisms to adjust it were missing. Well....as a 'young married couple' still very much in the honeymoon period of life we survived the week under candle light until the overbooked electritian could slot us into his schedule....and are practising Ecclesiastes 4:11, using our new fireplace frequently and baking (warms up the kitchen) nearly everyday to try and keep me warm (as Jonney has a natually in-built oven and is rarely even seen wearing a jumper in the house!). Yet through it all Jonathan has managed to make time for revision and study, and is fairly confident about his exams, two assignments and essay all due in the next two weeks! Some of you may wonder..a)what we look like after not seeing a photo for over a year...or b)if we will be visiting you this year.... Well, answer to a) Jonathan's pirate beard has matured significantly, though trimmed in places... and my hair, though not coloured anymore, has just reached lower than my shoulders and a recent photo should be accompanying our update this month. Answer to b)we are definately looking at three weeks USA in June (not confirmed yet) and a possible trip (or two) to Europe, visiting Belgium and Germany. This year we will be looking into options for Jonathan's third university year away (must be Spanish speaking counrty, Aug'07-May'08 and I plan to go with him!)so if any of you know of any project in a suitable area that we could get involved in, let us know! Well...that's all for now folks.....May God bless you richly with His love, peace and Spirit throughout 2006! |
